It has been said the eyes are the scouts of the soul. They seek that which pleases the heart. My eyes tirelessly investigate a world drenched in beauty, and return, sometimes delayed, but right on time, with a bounty of delight for my spirit. Please find, in my image galleries, pleasure for your heart in the innocent twinkling eyes of children; the awe-inspiring spectacle of an airliner launching into a tormented black sky, or the magnificence in a dew drop bathed in spilling morning light. Or maybe you will find a sense of captivation in my decade-long photographic study of tango. My incessant study of light and movement, have captured the fiery passion that animates this dynamic human architecture of motion. It is my hope, that these tango images will awaken the deep lingering questions of your heart...
Photography is a tip of the iceberg. |
What lies beneath is an invitation to discuss human movement / body language as a metaphor punctuating the existence of unconscious, tantalizing and primal memories as powerful unconscious driving forces in our lives. I submit these images for the purpose of viewer interaction with them. Consider if you will, each image a mirror reflecting your own experiences of intense passion, attraction, dismissal, anger, arousal, heartbreak, and reunion. For example, I find myself in an image when I recognize the crescendo of innuendo in the movement. In another image, I find myself, when I remember the belittlement of dismissal by a loved one. Another image becomes a knife of fire as I remember betrayal. I feel myself contract, looking upon another image, as it somehow reminds me of an abuse suffered long ago. In another image, all tension melts and I am carried blissfully to the memory of sacred union with another. |
